- Population of Antioch is 99,300. Antioch is the oldest city in Contra Costa County.
- Many young families - children under 18 make up 35% of population.
- Much of Antioch is suburban. In the last decade, Antioch has seen about 7,200 residential units, the majority of which are single family homes.
- The city has spent millions revitalizing its downtown with decorative streetlights, brick crosswalks, etc.
- Meadow Creek Crossings is located in the ‘new’ Antioch south of Highway 4. Lots of new construction including commercial centers and the new Deer Valley High School, which has a solar heated pool, a TV studio, a theater, and a science lab with a wind tunnel.

- The Sierra Nevada is just a few hours drive away and is a popular ski destination in winter and camping and hiking is popular year round especially in and around Yosemite National Park.
- San Francisco is an hour away by car or BART and offers city nightlife as well as concerts, museums, sporting events, and fine dining opportunities.
- Paramount's Great America - Santa Clara. A large theme park offering thrill rides, shows, and restaurants.
- Six Flags - Marine World-Africa USA - Vallejo. A large recently expanded theme park offering rides, restaurants, and an up-close look at lions, tigers, elephants, seals, whales, dolphins, etc. in their natural habitat and in wildlife shows.
- The Mt. Diablo State Park - Offers miles of hiking, biking, and horse trails, camping spots, rock climbing, and picnicking.
- Waterworld USA - Concord. Large water park. Water slides, lazy river, wave pools, restaurants, picnic areas, and volleyball courts. Open Memorial Day through Labor Day.
- The Concord Pavilion was recently renovated and expanded to hold 12,500 people and attracts first class entertainers in country, rock, pop, classical, and jazz.
