The City of Oakley is one of California's newest cities, incorporated on July 1, 1999, it is located in eastern Contra Costa County, near the cities of Antioch, Brentwood and Pittsburg. It is 55 miles east of San Francisco and 55 miles southwest of Sacramento. Oakley's vibrant, growing business community is made up of a mix of small single family businesses to larger businesses and, in the future, big box retail. This mix honors Oakley's rich past and signals the move into the future with a growing local economy. The goal is to build an infrastructure that attracts new jobs and businesses, entertainment, recreation, and activities while maintaining a small town atmosphere. With it's ideal location in the heart of the Delta, Oakley offers abundant opportunities for recreation on and off the water. Boating, fishing & water skiing are just some of activities residents enjoy through out the season. Oakley's temperate climate makes it possible to enjoy the delta all year. The city also offers a wide array of activities for residents of all ages, including classes, sports teams, after school programs & activities for seniors. |
